150 years from now we will be a distant memory. We may be a photo in a box, an album, or on a wall. We may be a name on a park bench that strangers wonder about. We may be the source of a recipe that gets passed down while our own family members reminisce about what life must have been like during our times.
And yet here we are as a human race, carrying the weight of every decision we make and every action we take. We overthink ourselves into complete stagnancy and trap ourselves in lives unlived.
We fuss about that extra bite of dessert, we hold back our truths, we mould ourselves for nods of approval and we let our energy bleed out for all the wrong things. Then we spend an average of 37 days/yr on social media, and 44 days/yr watching TV to distract us from our own reality.
We hold back on our dreams and wonder why others get to live theirs, yet we won’t change a single thing we’re doing that is keeping us stuck in the status quo. So we outsource our livelihoods and financial security to another entrepreneur, instead of becoming the entrepreneur ourselves.
We willingly poison ourselves through the hi-jacked industrial food complex under the guise of convenience. And then we fear our own skin when we fall ill and outsource our intimate connection to our bodies and our own inner knowing to strangers in lab coats.
We adopt thoughts, beliefs, and ideologies that are not from our own source codes and we accept them as truth and live imprisoned by their terms. We distract ourselves with so much noise that digging through the layers to find our own intuition is just too much work, and so we outsource that too.
We open the door to our sacred hearts and minds to all the wrong people and things and the enemy just walks right in. Like a thief in the night, they steal our joy, our personal freedom, and our inner peace. And we let them. Then we settle for a life led by anger, fear, and vengeance, and we slowly rot from within.
We wonder with complete bewilderment why we don’t have world peace, as we refuse to address the war within ourselves. We fail to acknowledge our own biases & challenge our own beliefs. So we play to & live by the polarities that keep us divided. And then we wonder why there’s still so much division.
Which leads us all to the question…what the fuck are we doing?
Stop resigning to the tragedy of our world by living your life at 20%. Focus your energy on your world within. That’s what you can control. That’s what you’re responsible for. Joke’s on us because that’s how we actually change the entire world. And 150 years from now, the world will have you to thank.
